Respo is a sociological research agency based in Kazakhstan and covering all the region. We provide research services while prioritizing a deep understanding of the unique cultural and social context of Central Asia and CIS countries. Our team is dedicated to exploring challenging theoretical and practical research questions with innovative methodologies.
Our Research
At Respo, we conduct cutting-edge research in sociology and related fields, with a focus on Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan. Our team of experienced researchers and analysts use innovative methodologies to tackle complex research questions. We strive to generate knowledge that can inform policy and decision-making at local, national, and international levels. When our team first entered this region, we felt, on the one hand, a lack of quality analytics, and on the other hand, a huge interest in this region on the part of the scientific and business communities. Our task is to make knowledge about the societies of this region available.
Our Focus
Respo is a modern and young research firm, founded in 2023, with the special focus on sociological research for NGO's, academy, policy-makers, and business. We have extensive experience of working with various kinds of clients in neighbouring countries, and we know what they need.
Methodology
We assist organizations in developing methodology and adapting best practices in the Central Asian and adjacent countries. The use of unfamiliar research tools in new contexts often leads to distortions and deterioration of results. We strive to use the latest methodological aaproaches in questionnaire composition, research design, sampling and data analysis. In our work, we follow a rigorous approach to control the data and verify the hypotheses. We welcome various experiments: list experiments, direct/non-direct estimations, randomizing the questionnaire and many more.

We use our experience to improve every step of the work. CATI surveys are one of the most important areas of our expertise. Our team in cooperation with international data experts has succeeded in developing unique algorithms for in-depth analysis of CATI data. Active use of machine learning allows us to increase a proportion of successful calls and reduce overall costs, making the sample frame more concise.

Our company is based in a multicultural and multilingual region and we are committed to developing and promoting unique research standards designed to bridge cultural and linguistic differences. Our research design process is tailored to the local context and includes the development and adaptation of research hypotheses to the local habitus. We strive to ensure that all research is culturally sensitive and appropriately adapted to the target audience. We seek balance between keeping your design universal and bringing it to the life.
